Douglas and Sorensen properties

The Douglas Walk-In Access areas consist of five separate properties. Please be familiar with the rules that pertain to each of them.

Douglas properties

Rules for all the properties

  • Limit of 10 hunters per day for each WIA area.
  • Hunters must contact and set up date to hunt in advance.
  • Park only in designated parking areas.
  • WIA property is closed first three days of pheasant hunt. General public may hunt WIA property starting Tuesday following opening weekend of pheasant hunt.
  • WIA property will be closed to accommodate the Youth Pheasant Hunt on Nov. 10, 2007. It will reopen to public use the following day Nov. 11, 2007.
  • Pick up all trash.
  • Stay more than 600 feet away from houses, buildings, machinery and livestock.
  • Please respect private property.
  • Please leave maps and rules in box.

Individual property rules

— Arthur Douglas properties (red)

  • Species allowed to hunt include: Hungarian partridge, chukar partridge, mourning dove, pheasant, waterfowl, and cottontail rabbit.
  • No hunting for deer or sharp-tail grouse.
  • Contact Arthur Douglas at (435) 471-2235 to set up a date to hunt. Hunters must talk with him personally, not just leave a message.

—Lavar Douglas property (green)

  • Species allowed to hunt include: Hungarian Partridge, chukar partridge, mourning dove, pheasant, waterfowl, sharp-tail grouse and cottontail rabbit.
  • No hunting for deer.
  • Contact Lavar Douglas at (435) 257-5503 to set up a date to hunt. Hunters must talk with him personally, not just leave a message.

— Ray Sorensen property (blue)

  • Species allowed to hunt include: Hungarian Partridge, chukar partridge, mourning dove, pheasant, waterfowl, sharp-tail grouse, deer and cottontail rabbit.
  • Contact Ray Sorensen at (435) 471-7215 to set up a date to hunt. Hunters must talk with him personally, not just leave a message.
