Terms & conditions for using the Range Creek property
Permit requirements
- Range Creek WMA will be open from April 15 through December 1, (weather/road conditions permitting).
- There is a $5.00/person/day up to five consecutive days processing fee for the Range Creek Access permit.
- Permits are available online.
- Permits are not available at the gate or in the canyon.
- Possessors of the permits have read and understand The "Terms and Conditions for Use of the Range Creek Property," and by signing the document, agree to strictly adhere to all the requirements stated herein. Adults will be responsible for all minors.
- The Range Creek access permits are nonrefundable and nontransferable.
- All persons inside the gate regardless of age must carry the Range Creek Wildlife Management Area access permit.
- This permit and photo identification must be shown upon the request of the officer who will be patrolling the area.
- Only 28 individual permits per day will be issued — only 28 people per day will be allowed in the canyon.
- Permits are only valid for the date(s), specified on the permit
- A permit does not allow entry onto private property
- Volunteers at the gate or within the Range Creek Wildlife Management Area may ask if you have a permit.
- Persons granted administrative access by the division do not need a permit and will not count toward the daily limit of 28.
Visitor time limits
- One permit per day, per visitor, up to 5 consecutive days.
Archaeological and historic sites
- It is unlawful for any person to intentionally alter, move, remove, injure or destroy antiquities. Please take only photographs.
Transportation restrictions
- No mechanized travel
- Horse or foot traffic only
Camping
- No camping is allowed inside the gated area
- Quiet hours 10 p.m. – 6 a.m. at the camping area outside the gate.
- Campfires are allowed in the metal campfire rings only.
Animals
- Dogs are allowed, but they must be under the control of their owners at all times.
- Horses are allowed, however, there are no corral facilities, no pasture is available, and weed-free feed must be used while in the Range Creek Wildlife Management Area.
Hunting and fishing
- Fishing and hunting is allowed in the canyon based on current regulations and seasons. Prior to fishing and hunting in the Range Creek Wildlife Management, a Range Creek Wildlife Management Area access permit must be obtained and carried April 15 through December 1. Hunters and anglers should read appropriate hunting and fishing proclamations.
