It's not unusual to find newly hatched birds in your yard this time of the year. Placing the bird in the nearest tree is the right thing to do if you find one on the ground. Its parent will find and feed it soon.

The water isn't the only thing getting hot at Utah Lake — fishing for channel catfish is getting hot too. Scott Root, regional conservation outreach manager for the Division of Wildlife Resources, expects catfish fishing to stay hot for the rest of the summer.

If you've never shot a .22 rifle before, visit the Lee Kay Public Shooting Range on June 7 and June 8. The range is holding an open house both of those days. During the open house, the range's archery, rifle and handgun ranges will be open for free. And, if you want to shoot on the shotgun range, you can for a reduced fee.
