Blue Ribbon Fisheries

Manning Meadows Reservoir

Location:: Piute County, on Monroe Mountain, Fishlake National Forest, south of Richfield.

Game fish: Native Bonneville cutthroat trout.

Size: 55 Surface Acres.

Elevation: 9450 feet

Conservation pool: Yes, all water is owned by DWR

Maximum water temperature: 68° F

Productivity: The lake and Bonneville cutthroat trout are managed for brood stock production.

Type of fishing available: Special regulations to protect brood stock. Artificial flies and lures only; closed January 1 through the second Saturday in July; limit of one (1) trout 22 inches or larger.

Angler pressure: Light

Accommodations: Dispersed primitive camping allowed. Portable toilet located at the lake. Nearest motels are located in Richfield.

Food: Restaurants and stores located in Richfield.

Boat ramps: None

Boat rentals: None

Fish foods: Aquatic and terrestrial insects and mollusks.

Land ownership: Fishlake National Forest

Access: By dirt road approximately 20 miles southeast out of Monroe or from Greenwich on the east side of Monroe Mountain.

Unique attractions: Beautiful, quiet mountain setting. Cool air temperatures in the summer.
