Kolob Reservoir
Location:: Location just outside the boundary of Zion National Park, northeast of St. George and southeast of Cedar City on the Kolob Plateau.
Game fish: Rainbow and cutthroat trout.
Size: 249 surface acres and about 50 feet deep at full pool; summer drawdowns for irrigation use.

Productivity: Spawning occurs in Kolob Creek. Stocked as needed with cutthroat trout fry and rainbow trout fingerling.
Type of fishing available: Special fishing rules apply. Flies and lures only.
Angler pressure: High pressure on weekends during the summer.
Accommodations: Primitive camping allowed on Washington County property around the lake. Portable toilets are provided by the County and State Wildlife Resources. Private and county property should be respected, and all garbage should be hauled out. St. George and Cedar City are within 30 miles.
Food: Restaurants and stores available 40 miles north in Cedar City or 30 miles south in Virgin and other towns.
Boat ramps: A gravel boat ramp is available.
Boat rentals: None
Fish food: Fish, crayfish, aquatic and terrestrial insects.
Land ownership: Private land surrounds the reservoir with the shoreline being owned by the Washington County Water Conservancy District.
Access: Access is by paved road north from the town of Virgin off State Highway 9, or gravel road off of State Highway 14 from Cedar City.
Unique attraction: Quiet mountain setting.
