11/26 — Bridget Olson, Wildlife Biologist at Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge (BRMBR conducted a Waterbird/Raptor Survey at BRMBR and reported that all units are about 95% frozen over with a dusting of snow. Only the deep-water canals and the Bear River have open water. Unusual sightings include 2 Great Egrets, 1 Prairie Falcon, 1 Common Loon, a female Long-tailed Duck and 2 lingering American White Pelicans. The Tundra Swan count is down to about 1/2 of what it was this time last week for the GSL basin. Most of the birds sighting were within the closed portion of the Refuge. Bird counts follow:
