Utah bird sightings

02/10 — Diane Penttila conducting a bird survey for the Ouray National Wildlife Refuge reported the following birds and conditions: Temperature at 7:30 a.m.: –12 F°. The last snowfall pushed some geese back out and the elk moved off. The following birds were seen within the survey route:

  • Canada Geese, 250
  • Mallard, 4
  • Bald Eagles, 7
  • Rough-legged Hawks, 2
  • Northern Harrier, 1
  • American Kestrel, 1
  • Red-tailed Hawk, 1
  • Golden Eagle, 1
